Hi, I’m Kara.
You may wonder why I’m based in Taiwan and why I enjoy manufacturing so much.
I worked for Texas Instruments for many years and supported product development with customers in Taiwan, Japan, Korea, and China. I worked as a supplier selling chipsets and providing system engineering support from software reference to thermal and optical designs. It was here that I developed a passion for Taiwan and the Chinese language.
After transitioning to a Texas Instruments team called Education Technology, I learned about complete product development, qualification testing, and materials. I was introduced to manufacturing technologies like injection molding, extrusion, DFM, 8D reports, risk assessments, audits, packaging products for the warehouses and shipment, IQC and OQC standards, managing lead times, schedules, and other supply chain methodologies from distinguished people with 30+ years of experience.
I then relocated to Taiwan and worked with a small technology company for a few years. I’ve worked hard to form lifetime connections with friends and factory owners, and my Mandarin language skills have improved dramatically. I can now read, speak, and write at an advanced level.
During this time, I began to notice a trend. Many companies try to build products using parts from online platforms like Alibaba, but are often left hanging or disappointed with low-quality results. Lone Star Technology was formed in December 2014 to prevent exactly that. Large companies have established supply chain teams that are given priority at factories due to their high order quantities. But who speaks up for smaller companies that don’t need to retain a large team of supply chain staff?
Lone Star does.
Product development is exciting, and I’m always available to discuss how Lone Star can help your company.
